The Liberals got 59.3% in the 97 election and the next candidate was the Tories at 22.7%. Unless the PC party fields an exceptionaly strong candidate then I imagine this will go Liberal.

Nominally part of the Great Red Tomato Patch of NW Toronto, but less pure--PC nearly won in '84--and further diluted by adding the former N Toronto "panhandle" of St. Paul's, which had been the strongest PC part *there* in '93. No wonder the contender here in '97 was a "star" (albeit long in the tooth)--former MPP and Toronto mayoral candidate David Rotenberg. But it couldn't fall that time. And not this time, either.
